Cartoon Network is a cable television network available throughout the world. It is created by Turner Broadcasting which specializes in animated programming. Cartoon Network usually serves as a 24-hour outlet for different animation programs. Although it is youth-oriented or even child-oriented, there is space for late-night adult-oriented programming called Adult Swim. After 2003, Cartoon Network started airing some live-action programming too, mainly movies. Turner Broadcasting has become a unit of Time Warner. Now Cartoon Network has a sister TV channel, Boomerang. There are different Cartoon Network programs for different countries or regions like Cartoon Network (United States), Cartoon Network (India), etc. In its onward march Turner Broadcasting bought MGM and the animation studio Hanna-Barbera Productions, thus expanding its product range.
